It was discovered that towels are far more contaminated than what meets the eye. They can harbor a lot of bacteria- yes, even after being washed. The research revealed that 90% of the towels in the study carried coliform bacteria, and 14% carried e-coli. Over the course of 3 days, that bacteria multiplied by the millions. Using these towels was even compared by Gerba himself to “sticking your head in a toilet bowl and flushing it”. With this, a whole new perspective was made on that last step in your skincare routine- drying your face.
